The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Abeye Duguma met with Erica Calderon for a Required One (01) Year visit. LPA explained the reason for the visit. A tour of the physical plant was conducted at 10:00 AM and the following was noted:

There are two entrances being utilized at the facility. The facility is fire cleared to provide services to forty-five (45) non-ambulatory clients. The facility is currently providing services to fourteen (14) clients.

Facility is designed for an adult day program that works with an Los Angeles County Regional Center. The program operates between 8:00am to 2:30pm. There are several activity rooms ranging from arts and crafts to music. The clients are provided care and supervision while at the day program. Clients activities schedule is posted along with their personal rights. The staff schedule was reviewed and there is sufficient staff to provide care during operating hours.

The facility does not have a swimming pool/body of water or garage. All cleaning agents and other toxins are locked away. Food storage and preparation areas are clean and inaccessible to pests. Knives and sharps are observed to be locked and inaccessible to residents. Facility furniture is neat and clean. The facility maintains a comfortable temperature at 72°F.

Dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were located throughout the facility. The facility conducts fire/emergency drills monthly. There are bathrooms for male and female clients. Bathrooms observed to be clean and functional. The water temperature from kitchen to bathroom sink ranged from 112.1-115.2°F.

No citations issued during this visit. Exit interview conducted. A copy of the report was issued.
