The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Taadhimeka Zeigler made a visit to conduct an Annual Inspection. LPA was greeted by Program Director Lamosha Anderson, and the reason for the visit was discussed.

A tour of the physical plant was conducted. All smoke alarms are linked to local fire department and a sprinkler system is present. The carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operational. The fire extinguishers were last serviced on 05/17/2018.. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 3/28/2018. The last earthquake drill was conducted on 03/29/2018.

Medications: Medications are stored in a cabinet in a lock box. Medications are administered by the program director, and one other designated staff. Physician's orders are kept on file at the day program. Bathrooms: There are 2 bathrooms designated for clients use. Bathrooms were clean, properly supplied and had functional fixtures. In addition, there is a changing room located close to the bathrooms that is properly supplied. Hot water was measured at 115.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Kitchen: The kitchen appeared clean and functional. Client's bring lunch to the day program. The program provides snacks twice a week. Food in the kitchen was properly stored and labeled. Sharp Objects/Toxins : Sharp objects and knives are locked in the storage room and are inaccessible to clients. Common Areas : These included the exercise area, leisure area, cafe, vocational area, music area, and visitor area. Locker area, one locker is provided for each client. The common areas appeared clean and were appropriately furnished. Surrounding Grounds : Exits were free from obstruction with no visible hazards. Motor Vehicles: The facility has 2 vans, and the registration is current on both . The vans have functional seat belts and extended belts for wheelchairs. Client Files: All client files included current appraisals, medical assessments and admission agreements. Staff Files: All staff files included current first aid certifications and TB test clearance. Staff training appears to meet the needs of clients. All staff have criminal record clearance.
