The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nune Margaryan conducted an unannounced annual visit at the facility using the CARE tool. LPA met with Sommers Tia, Administrator and explained the reason for the visit. The facility is licensed as an Adult Day Program to serve 120 adults clients which 24 can be non ambulatory. At the time of visit there were 76 clients at the facility.

LPA toured the facility and inspected/observed the following: The day program consists of front office area, 5 activity rooms, 2 offices, 3 bathrooms with multiple stalls, hand washing station, and a kitchen / break room. Staff are cleaning and disinfecting the facility daily and more often for high touched surfaces. The program site is clean, sanitary and in good repair. All passageways are free from obstruction. 2 fire extinguishers located at the front and in the back of facility are fully charged. LPA observed Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and knives unlocked in the kitchen / break room and accessible to clients. The bathrooms were observed to be clean and operational. The water temperature was tested in the bathrooms and in the kitchen. The hot water temperature measured 109.7 and 109.2 degrees F, which is within the required range of 105 - 120 degrees F. There is no pool or large body of water at the premises. There is shaded area for the clients. There are multiply First Aid kits at the facility. All of them are fully stocked with all required items including a current manual. There are 2 clients currently receiving medications on site and are administered as prescribed. Medications are locked in the Administrator's office and inaccessible to the clients. Program not provide meals to clients during ADP activities. Clients are able to bring their own food. There are refrigerators in each rooms where the clients can store their food. Carbon monoxide detectors observed throughout the facility and are operable.
