The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nune Margaryan conducted an unannounced annual visit at the facility using the CARE tool. LPA met with Laura Bradshaw, Program Director who assisted with the visit. Reason for the visit was explained. The Day Program is licensed to serve 45 non-ambulatory developmentally disabled adults ages 18 and over. All clients in the day program receive services provided by San Gabriel / Pomona Regional Center. At the time of visit there were 19 clients at the facility. The facility does not provide transportation services. The ADP does not provide medication or meals to clients during ADP activities. Clients bring their own meals and snacks, but snacks are provided if needed. LPA toured the facility with Laura Bradshaw and the following was observed: The program site is clean, sanitary and in good repair. All passageways are free from obstruction. Three (3) fully charged fire extinguishers were observed. The building has battery operated smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fire pull alarm system, and no sprinklers. Facility does not have any sharp utensils in the facility and the cleaning supplies are stored and locked in the storage room next to the kitchen which is inaccessible to the clients. The bathrooms were observed to be clean and operational. The water temperature was tested in the bathrooms and in the kitchen and reading was within the Title 22 regulation. There is no pool or large body of water at the premises. There is an outdoor grassy/shaded area. Patio furniture and umbrella were observed during the visit. The facility maintains emergency food supply and water. Two (2) first aid kits were observed in the facility with the required items and a first aid manual was available. LPA observed smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and they are located in each activity room and staff offices and common areas, and they are working well. The last fire drill was completed on 04/30/2025.
